Eastern Elite CHAOS Hockey Academy Joins the Premier Hockey League (PHL)<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
The Eastern Elite CHAOS Hockey Academy (EECHA) is proud to announce its official entry into the Premier Hockey League (PHL), beginning in Fall 2026.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
As part of this exciting expansion, EECHA will launch two female-only AAA teams\u2014the Jr. CHAOS 2010 and Jr. CHAOS 2012\u2014competing in the PHL during the 2026\u201327 season. These elite programs will draw top talent from across Western Canada, the Northwest Territories, and the Yukon, creating a truly regional showcase for high-performance female hockey.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
The PHL platform will provide Jr. CHAOS athletes with an exceptional opportunity to compete at a high level while developing advanced skills, confidence, and hockey IQ. The program is designed to support each player\u2019s individual goals through a structured, professional development pathway.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Athletes in the EECHA Jr. CHAOS program can expect:<\/strong><\/span><\/div>

* 150+ hours of on-ice training<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
* 50+ hours of dryland and performance training<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
* 100+ hours of player advising and development support<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
* 50+ competitive games<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
* Skill-based practices led by elite coaches<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
* Full access to TPE (The Prospects Exchange) video breakdown and analytics system<\/strong><\/span><\/div>

To lead this inaugural season, EECHA has secured two of the top head coaches in the region, bringing proven leadership, player-first development, and high-performance standards to the Jr. CHAOS program.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>

The addition of EECHA to the PHL marks a significant step forward for female AAA hockey in Western Canada, reinforcing the academy\u2019s commitment to excellence, exposure, and long-term athlete development.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>

Head Coach \u2013 Mark Fleming<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Mark Fleming brings more than two decades of elite hockey experience as a player, coach, instructor, and program leader. A former Senior AAA standout with the Bentley Generals, Mark was part of a Provincial Championship team in 2002 and a Senior AAA National Championship squad in 2004, earning Allan Cup representation for Alberta\/BC. His playing career shaped his competitive mindset and team-first approach, transitioning from a top-line scorer to a high-impact energy player as his leadership role evolved.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
As a coach, Mark has worked at every level of the game, from Learn-to-Play and Initiation through Bantam AA and U17 AAA. He has served as Head Coach for AAA spring programs, Minor Hockey head coach, and Director of a U17 AAA program, with a strong reputation for developing hockey sense, skating efficiency, and competitive confidence. Most recently, he was part of a State Championship AA team in 2024, while also mentoring young coaches and supporting high-performance environments.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
Mark is a highly regarded Power Skating and Hockey Skills Instructor, serving as Head Instructor for Fleming Hockey Skills Camp since 2002. His technical expertise, combined with his ability to teach and motivate, has helped hundreds of players improve their skating, puck skills, and overall game awareness.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Beyond the bench, Mark has demonstrated exceptional leadership as President of Crossfield Minor Hockey for three years, overseeing organizational growth, financial stability, and one of the strongest Atom programs in the association\u2019s history. He holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering (with distinction) from the University of Alberta and maintains Level 2 Coaching Certification in Canada and Level 4 certification in the United States, reflecting his commitment to continued learning and coaching excellence.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>

Known for his organized, innovative, and player-centered approach, Mark Fleming is passionate about developing not only high-performing athletes, but confident, accountable young people through teamwork, competition, and respect for the game.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>

Dave Kawula brings more than 15 years of elite coaching, scouting, and player development experience to his role as Head Coach of the Eastern Elite Chaos Hockey Academy U15 Girls Program, competing in the PHL.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
In addition to his coaching duties, Kawula serves as a Scout for the Lake Region State College Women\u2019s Program (ACHA Division II), where he evaluates and identifies talent across the U15\u2013U22 junior levels. His dual role provides athletes with valuable exposure and insight into junior and collegiate pathways.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Kawula\u2019s coaching background spans U5 through U18+ levels and is rooted in long-term athlete development principles. He is highly regarded for his structured approach to skill development, detailed practice planning, competitive team systems, and game management. His philosophy emphasizes accountability, preparation, and mentorship\u2014ensuring athletes are equipped for success both on and off the ice, and ready for advancement to junior and post-secondary hockey.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
As a player, Kawula competed at the highest levels across Western Canada, including AAA, Major Junior, and Junior A. His playing r\u00e9sum\u00e9 includes time with the Prince Albert Mintos U15 and U18 AAA programs, the Prince Albert Raiders (WHL), the Lloydminster Blazers (Junior A), and two seasons with the Merritt Centennials of the BCHL.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Today, Kawula is deeply committed to the development of female athletes. By combining his extensive coaching background with active scouting and advisory roles, he provides players with a clear, informed roadmap through competitive hockey and toward future academic and athletic opportunities.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
The EECHA Jr. CHAOS will kick off their season in August with Training Camp based out of Calgary, Alberta.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>
